Anne Thompson

One of the most inspiring things about my job is helping people – connecting them with their cargo, answering their questions and providing solutions.

I started in the freight industry back in 1994 and have held senior management positions in both freight forwarding and infrastructure engineering firms. In 2003 I was the first New Zealand recipient of an international FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding. A big deal, celebrated by CBAFF at that time. I graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor in Business – completed in 2020 after 7 years of part time study.

I am a motorcycle enthusiast – I raced 125cc motorcycles at the old Mt Wellington Cart Track for 5 years.  Dragged my Harley 1200 sportster at Meremere and totally blamed the rev limiter for not breaking 13s!

My husband does ALL the cooking and I plan to tramp the ‘great walks’ of NZ before my next decade birthday ticks over!

The best piece of advice I have ever been given is “Let a rock be the foundation on which you build”.

If I weren’t so damn good at my job, I would probably be a house flipper.
